While diving in the Florida Keys, halfway through a dive I spotted a 5 lb weight on the bottom with a small piece of webbing. So I picked it up, carried if for the rest of the dive and brought it back on the boat. An instructor saw it when he got back onto the boat and asked who retrieved it. Apparently he was running a student through search and recovery.... I asked if he would sign off on the cert for me since I found it and recovered it. :~) Fortunately he had a sense of humor about it. Before the next dive, he loudly told the entire boat about the search and recovery.

First dive in my first drysuit. I was wearing wool thermals and DUI's thickest undergarment. I forgot to take my jeans off prior to donning undergarment and drysuit. Yup trying to fin was fun that dive.

I jumped into 5℃ water with the drysuit relief zipper open. I made a real quick thrusting motion to get the groin above water and closed it, then did the dive, somewhat colder and wetter than intended.

I saw someone forget to close the zipper once.

Couple times I stepped into the ocean w/o my weight belt. In one case, I even forgot it at home so I simply stuffed my BC pockets with rocks. Couple times I submerged while still breathing through the snorkel.
I did that in Hawaii 2 weeks ago. Flew with everything because I had plenty of room/weight limit. Packed 2 full kits in the van, 2 kids, my in laws and the wife. Drove 40 minutes south to Two Step and didn't think to check everything. I grabbed all the snorkel gear and hit the water. 1 hour later I go to get kitted up and realize I have 2 scuba gear and 0 lead... had to scrounge for rocks among the lava that would sink AND fit in my pockets. Wife stayed up top for that dive lol

We had a camera follow us back to the main live aboard after my wife lost it on a dive.

On a dive in Indonesia, off of one of the tenders, my wife let go of her small and borrowed camera and it disappeared. Several of us, upon surfacing looked around and then the tender motored around for a while, but no luck. We gave up and motored back to the live aboard.

Later that evening while walking around the boat, someone noticed the camera floating close to the boat.

Guess, I am not so unique :) How was it at 2 Steps? Crowded?

Busy and I who usually shore dive got an opportunity to get on a local private boat. It had been a long time since the last boat dive.

Buddy and I dropped to 70', then I started to take my heading.... Stopped... Shook my head. We didn't drop from the anchor, so no clue where we were in relation to the boat. Signaled to swim locally till we were done. Surface swim was fun.

I forgot my boots and dove in flip-flops. Worked just fine.

And then there was the time I should have pooped before I got on the boat...

It was awesome! 30ft reef that drops down to the depths. I went over the edge and hung out at the bottom of the rice corral (?) Around 103-105 ft. Random guy who dropped with me said he saw a tiger shark on the north side of the reef the day before. 100' vis and 85° at 103'.
