Let's remind ourselves of the special rules of this forum:

Do we want to add a new category of posts? Do we want to say:

This is also a place for frustrated experienced divers to vent their anger at the existing system and start yet another version of the raging debates that fill many of the other forums.

We have that already covered, it's call "wine and cheese".

Post 32 on page 1?

I view 50 posts at a time

I don't have a clue why you posted that, so here is a fish standing on it's tail:

I don't think that's necessary.

I think it both possible and reasonable for folks to express legitimate concerns about trends in instruction and point out faults with the existing methods, without violating the spirit of this (nicey/nice) forum.

While there may be some frustrated ranters, half the time that accusation is simply thrown out by folks who don't want to allow legitimate debate. There's nothing wrong with lively or passionate posts as long as we each understand and accept that the other idiot who's, BTW, 100% wrong, may be thinking that same exact thing about us.

All I said was that this forum is not the place for people to push unsolicited opinions on controversial issues. No judgment required. If someone asks a question, go ahead and answer it. I just don't think we ought to be bringing them up here on our own.

So, are you saying this is NOT the right room for an argument?

Yes it is! No it's not! (It is...)

Yes.

I do believe you summarized things perfectly.

:rofl3:

Define Unsolicited.
Define controversial

What you might see as both, someone else wouldn't.

No judgment required. If someone asks a question, go ahead and answer it. I just don't think we ought to be bringing them up here on our own.

Do you think it is that simple?

Ok. Now I understand what you're saying, but I disagree with you.
and I disagree with you.
I think the more hysterical/aggressive/rude/arrogant/belligerent someone sounds the less likely they are to say anything worth listening to.

R..
To me, this states that you have a closed mind.

You have pre-judged the content based on tone.
