If you needed a new regulator or BCD, where would you go on Oahu? Just curious. I can't believe that South Seas Aquatics is the only shop that sells gear.

you can also buy gear from See in Sea (you can even buy the whole store as they are selling out), Ocean Concepts (in several sports authority stores), Dive Oahu, Aarons, ......BTW...why aren't you here yet??

Ive yet to find a decent LDS to buy from. Same ole story, they have one in stock but if it dosent fit you they can order one. I think it was Pacific Paradise? that was opening a new shop that was supposed to have more gear. Pearl?
I was shoping for BP/Ws this weekend. The one shop that had them had only one and no one there knew enough about them to tell me anything. Had to wait for the owner and he never called back. And these shops wonder why we go online to shop?

Universal Diver,

I like Scubapro regs, so that narrows it down. I did just get a very fair price from Dive Oahu, Brian Benton. Also, he carries Zeagle, very great BCD. I maybe should not say this, but he will match on-line site brand X (Zeagle stuff not Scubapro) South Seas Aquatics have the best prices on Oahu, in my experience. They used to carry Scubapro, but the prices were too good and other dealers set them up to lose the dealership (I was told) Whoever told you about South Seas knows what they are talking about.

I use Halcyon and love Great Lakes Divers in Michigan because they have pronto customer service, etc.(Shipping faster than parking here) Must be the Midwest work ethic. I have never lived in the Midwest but whenever I deal with a company in the region, I feel like it is another planet. Check out the Zeagle Ranger!

Oahu is terrible when it comes to buying gear... I hate to say it but the internet is maybe your best bet, and I don't take this lightly, I am a very pro-LDS person, but the good shops have been run out of buisness. I have bought some stuff at Island Divers, but they are on the steep side. I do miss Hawaii Sea Adventures.

How bout' giving Scubatoys a call? Especially since they have 10% off for SB members...

I have as yet to buy anything since I have been here except for an air fill. I hate getting treated as a tourist that has nothing better to do with his money. Island divers (on the Air Force Base) would have the most of what I would be looking for (tech equipment), but I always leave a little angrier than when I walked in. And I'm still looking for a steel tank larger than a 72.

Exactly... that's what I hate about diving on Oahu!!! Don't even get me going about OC. BTW, I have 2 HP 80s if you are interested.

Maybe a group of us local divers need to get together and bring in a large order of lp 95's or something similar... order say a dozen or so?
