you can ?where? if it's not the same, why mention it? For some people it sticks too far into the mouth, causing a gag reflex, just trim it shorter (as per the instructions) and I now have one that still fits my mouth perfectly, and is only slightly longer than a regular mouthpiece .. and ... you could cut it even shorter so it was the same as regular one while fitting your mouth better than a regular one

I mention it because it's not the same and it's only $8. If the longer mouthpiece works better for you, pay $30 for the Seacure. If a shorter mouthpiece is better, why pay the extra for something you're just going to cut away?

I'm an Ocenic fan, but not familiar with this product, nor can I find it on their site. Got a link, pls...?

I bought mine at Divers City in the Keys.

Did you soak it in hot water and fit it properly? ;)

Mine has made a world of difference for jaw fatigue and chaffing (on the gums)....

able, absolute, aces, adept, admirable, adroit, bad, best, brutal, cold, complete, consummate, crack, downright, dynamite, exceptional, expert, fab, fantastic, fine, first-rate, good, heavy, hellacious, marvelous, masterly, mostest, number one, out-and-out, perfect, positive, proficient, skilled, skillful, super dupe, surpassing, terrific, total, tough, transcendent, tremendous, unmitigated, unqualified, utter, wonderful, zero cool

((you've got to love an online thesaurus))

The best. The absolute best!
Worth every penny! (And I paid way too much at my LDS for it.)
I love my Seacure. No more jaw fatigue.
I did have a terrible time with the gag reflex thing. I had to trim it on the ends & on the inside. I went slow & did the trimming a little at a time. Then I'd reheat it & mould it again. I finally got the perfect fit.
It's like a little piece of heaven, in my mouth. (teehee)

Walter,
Is the Oceanic mouthpiece similar to the Seacure, as in the moulding process? Or is it good to go, right out of the package? Would it be a good choice for the Octo?

I'm relly interested in this Oceanic boil & fit mouthpiece, but - Ron at Oceanic says they don't carry them anymore.

I called Divers City, tho, and they still have some: Part #07.1000 - $9.
:D

Thanks Walter, Sorry, I did not realize that was a conforming mouthpiece, and cheaper too

I had one but I took it off during my trip to Thailand. I'm so glad I brought my old mouthpiece with me, which is one that goes all the way around, not one with the two little things to grab in your teeth. I found that the Seacure irritated my bottom right gum. It seems the reg kind of pulls down that way in my mouth.

If you wanted to give it another try there are a couple of things that come to mind to help you. One is that maybe your teeth are too close together? It is easy to bite too hard on the soft mouthpiece as you are molding it. The other is thing you might try is simply trimming that side where it irritates your gums, or simply heat it and mold it away from your gums.

My teeth are close together. I could give it another try. Thanks.

I know it isn't what you meant, but the first thought that came to my mind is - does it work better if you have large spaces between your teeth? :D
