A quick dip in a mix of hydrochloric acid makes many things beautiful again

Isn’t Bob Ami an industrial version of Baking Soda?
It's a lot more than that.
Feldspar, soda ash, and a few other things.
Totally natural, no perfumes, bleach, harsh detergents.
We use it to clean glass 100% clean to do reverse guilding on windows. It also takes off all stubborn water spots on vehicle glass. I use it on all my dive masks and have for years.
It's cheap and simple.
There is no other way to get glass that clean without etching it.
Bon Ami won't scratch glass.
I've been using it for years, I would know.

Thanks for the tips.

I tried brushing the surface with bleach. It’s not working.

I’ll get white vinegar tomorrow and let the glass surface soak on vinegar solution overnight and brushing the wet glass surface a few times before rinsing it off with water and report back the result.
Be careful with the frame though! You'll only want to work the glass.

Try “cleaning vinegar” available at Home Despot, at 30% concentrations (as opposed to the typical 5%) — which I regularly use, both for glass and while servicing regulators . . .
Well, I just brought the white vinegar today and poured it on the mask for a day (see the picture, below). We’ll see how it does tomorrow. If it’s not working, then I try cleaning vinegar tomorrow.

If that doesn’t work then I’ll try Bon Ami per @Eric Sedletzky recommendation before using the CRL or cerium oxide.

A new mask might cost less than all these cleaning attempts.
I do carry two masks, btw.

I bought a gallon of that cleaning vinegar (smallest size available) today and repeat the overnight soaking process and wii report the result tomorrow.
