I was just wondering if anyone had OW students in BP/Ws...

we aren't the only ones. Isn't all that uncommon at some of the universities, GUE obviously has all of theirs in BP/W's, quite a few independent instructors will do the same. FWIW removing a jacket BC can be done the same way, just is a bit more unwieldy without a crotch strap to hold onto

Nice video decompression :). Very smooth.
If anyone has a video of "overhead" removal and replacement, pls share.

I have one, but haven't downloaded it yet. It's really a useless skill. It's super easy at the surface because you just slip out from under it, but underwater you don't want to ever kneel for anything, and since this skill is easier when you're horizontal, unless you have a specific reason to pull it up over your head, there is no point.

The basics of doing it though are similar
Follow all steps above, emphasis on getting the rig about neutral. Left hand reaches back and pushes the bottom of the tank up, right hand grabs the shoulder strap right at the plate, left hand reaches up and does the same, then pull it over your head. It sucks if the bc isn't neutral because it sits on your head which isn't particularly comfortable. Again, completely useless thing to do under water, and doing it horizontal gives the same equipment comfort skill, but adds in being able to stay neutral during a big swing in gear

Thanks tbone. For surface removal to hand your rig to the boat, do you raise your arms and slide down/out, or you do the overhead?

I don't, I climb out on the ladder. If I have to get pulled up on the boat, i.e. dinghy or zodiak, I'll slide out from the bottom. You don't actually go under water when you do it, with the wing full, as soon as you let go of the waist and crotch straps it pretty much lifts itself off, which is why it is so important to make sure you have everything clipped off properly first.
