First, thanks to all who replied. This board is really a good source of info.

I did hook it up to my tanks and it works fine, the alternate second stage was a bit stiff but it loosened up.

I only asked because I wanted to do a dive last Saturday, and I wasn't sure if leaving it lying dormant for almost 8 months would be a problem.

I will dive with it next week (this week's dive was a wash out due to thunderstorms). The dive will be with a buddy I trust and in about 40ft of very mellow water. Just tormenting crabs and lobsta. I do not believe I will have an issue.

THanks again

It's highly unlikely that it wouldn't deliver air. The risk is that from setting a second stage has developed a hair trigger and will free flow in the water.

If you have air and a pail or basin of water you can hook the rig up. Now take a second sage and hold it mouthpiece up. With the diaphragm parallel to the water slowly lower it. The diaphragm wants to be submerged at least 1/2 inch before the regulator begins to crack open. If it trips on contact I'd have it checked before needing to scrub an outing. repeat with the other second stage.

Since you're talking months not years I'd like to think you'd be all set. However this very problem is quite common even on freshly serviced finely tuned regulators.
