I use a Conshelf on my stage bottle. Those things are indestructable and will be around forever. Pretty much any dive shop can service them, and they have been a popular choice for classes due to their dependability even when abused by students. So when they're taken care of properly, they're great. I am curious though as to why they're your "older" regs. If they were no longer treating you well, then you might want to cosider going with something new. IMO, your pony/stage reg should be just as good, if not better than, your primary reg.

It had nothing with treating me bad, It is just older equipment that I have had since I started diving. You know when you go into a dive shop and sometimes just have to have the newest and best equipment they have. Thats another discussion. But as I have bought new gear just a recently as Feb for my Mares Ice I have passed my "old" Blizzard down to my son. And my daughter has a Scubapro mk25/600 that I picked up for her making the Sherwood MAgnum "Old". And as far as the other 2 regs they are Just from when I first started diving. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with them it's just they are not being used at this time and may be used later maybe with my kids setup. Any way I decided to go with a new pony reg. and someday that will be "old"

Well I just got off the phone with Scuba toys and I changed my order from a v16 xl to a v16 with a MARES PROTON METAL OCTO. The unit should work great for the cold water diving we do here in MI. They price match Scuba.com price for the octo and they had the v16 priced at 99 minus 10% for SBM. came to 238 for this setup.

I'm surprised that more R190/MK2 owners/responses haven't been posted.
I've heard Conshelfs and R190s mentioned over the years for pony/stage regs. than most others. Have they fallen out of favor/use in recent times?
