Diver B should not have split from the group all 3 should have stayed together, he made an unnecessary stop. If I was a cynic I might even think the pony lead to a bad decision.
Since A and C could see B below it stands to reason that he could see them and if they had a problem. At 6 m he would have a better opportunity to to help somebody unable to establish buoyancy on the surface causing them to sink. If they were not visible to him he should have surfaced to check on them and if he chose drop back down to complete the stop. Maybe in your world there is no safety stop on a non-deco dive but in my world there sure as hell is.

What are you doing, making stuff up to suit your argument. How do you know what any of them could see. It was a group dive. When the dive was called all 3 should have stayed together and rendered assistant as needed. Maybe they were looking at a heap of bubbles trying to figure out where the hell he went.

- They were at a quarry, with people reported on shore.
- The diver that stayed down was a parapalegic, so their help may have been less.
- Rescuers not adding to the victim pile is a long standing caution, so blowing ascending rapidly on free flowing regulators before they ran out of air all the way to the surface with your friends may not be the most helpful five or ten minutes later.
- The site had a rescue boat.

Why would he blow to the surface? Who said any of them” blew “ to the surface.

"Diver A and C ended up on the surface, watching diver B below them."

If they were watching him they could obviously see him and probably vice versa

"Diver A and Diver C continued to ascend on free flowing regulators."
It probably wasn't a slow ascent.

Watching or looking for him, either way he should be on the surface with his buddies, why would anyone make an unnecessary stop after your primary gas has failed and you’re buddies are on the surface after making an assent with free flow regs.

It clearly states watching him not looking for him. Maybe it is you that is making stuff up to support your argument and not me.

There’s no reason that a safe assent can’t be made on a free flowing reg.
