FWIW, standard procedure is to open/close upon reaching the bottom (at a minimum). Things often get bumped during entry, or it may free-flow/depressurize on when splashing.
Got it, will do this going forward, thank you.

Because most if my diving is off charter boats that supply single tanks. Double tanks are typically not available and even if they were, they'd be too heavy and cumbersome. I wouldn't use most if that gas as I'm not a tech diver.
By adding the pony to the configuration I have the safety of redundancy and the extra gas to extend my dive, and it weighs a lot less.
If you like a Stony, then you are going to LOVE a Double Stony!

You wet your drysuit? Oops, limited attention span here. Sorry! I finished your post and really like the tiny doubles setup. CheersLi-er - can I share with you one of my deepest, darkest secrets?

You would certainly have to get a BP/W if you did. No way to rig your current BC to carry those banded doubles. Wait! I forgot who I was talking to, but you're going to need one massive retractor!I did consider 2 equal sized stony birthed one on each side of my primary tank but never got around to it.
Nice. Although of course I disagree with the negative comments directed towards my 19cf stony bottle.
