LOL.
Diving with bullshark is certainly one thing that Bali cannot offer.

@surf1div1
There are several places to choose from eg. photographer usually prefer Lembeh in northern Sulawesi. Pelagic is to be found in few other places.
You just need to know your own preferences. LoB or land based?

My reading was the op "checked out" Bali, i.e. she researched going there but has never been. Obviously her sources were not very good. Not sure what the "slaves" at her feet reference is to; in fact the op is rather strange with all the talk of "excrement," "poop," and "slaves." If I dived with the op, it would definitely be in a dry-suit. And what does any of this have to do with scuba diving :whistling::whistling::whistling:
Nothing at all. Just trying to lighten the mood. Poor guy, lost his wife. It was my way of saying I was sorry for his loss.

Thank you for your reply. Thank you for laughing. all content doesn’t not have to be delivered in a serious manner. But, that’s my opinion.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience in Bali, this is one of my favourite destinations.

There ere a few SB members living there and a solid recommendation could have been given had I seen this post earlier.

That said, welcome to SB and please check out what other members have experienced elsewhere when researching destinations.
Thanks for your FB Seacaigh. The primary disappointment was the dive operator's lack of equipment for what was supposed to be FOG and no safety stop. While I would of benefitted from SB members , diving was part of the options for our tour group as this wasn't a dive focused trip. Luckily or perhaps 😉 not. In any case it was a fantastic experience in terms of the people, night life ( the rock bar location, music etc.) and diving were very enjoyable . In any case I'm up for more travel and overseas travel for sure. Now researching updating some equipment ( BC , and dive computer) . And a refresher course none the less ( I could benefit from updating since its been since 1997 that I dove consistently) Thanks for all of the input all of you have provided.

Hey, I’m a widow…6 years. I havent been diving in over 10 years. I’m a good swimmer, so I decided to blow off the refresher and do an advance water dive class. I friended the owner if the local dive shop. I have a very big pool and live in a very small beach town. I negotiated. They are using my pool for the baby divers and I will be there to test my brand spanking new equipment. I always rented. No more!

Oh… my widower friend, i am very sorry for your loss.
Eventually, things will get a tiny bit better… enough for you to be able to think about what you want the rest of your life to look like. Every day is a gift…a journey, not a destination. In December, I’m going to Mexico. I will dive with the bull sharks. Why don’t you come with! We can have separate quarters. Two is just more fun, I too checked out Bali. It sounds like i can have slave men at my feet. That’s nice. But, as I understand, the diving isn’t great.

The bulls will actually force the excrement from my colon. I’m going for that. Lol Think about it. We can be back by Christmas or we don’t have to be. I must tell you that Christmas/Hanukkah is not a good time for me. That’s why I’m going. Think about it. You could poop your pants too by the new year. Please advise.
Tina, you crack me up! Your offer sounds interesting save the digestive part. I'm open to travel, and yes two is better than 1 if , like me adventure is your primary motivation.

Hi JonnieB, I'm confused about the " op, it would definitely be in a dry suit." Perhaps your being tongue and cheek to Tina's reference to poop, but even in SoCal drysuit diving is last time I checked more of an anomaly (though I believe a good fit for the thermal advantages fall through spring here).

So sorry for your loss. I've been divorced for 23 years (divorce not my idea) and single ever since. Bali diving is amazing, although I had a bad experience with my diving there. Not the diving itself, but the dive shop manager. I dove in Amed and Nusa Penida. I dove the Liberty (first wreck) from Amed, and really got into nudibranches there. The biggest group I had was two other divers, and that was just one day. The other days were me alone or one other divers. In Nusa Penida, I was a foot away from a giant manta ray-one of the coolest things I've ever done. I am sure you will have an awesome time there, and even at a small dive shop, it's easy to meet people.

My laughing is purely for #8 and #10, it has nothing to do with you.

I think your Bali plans are a winner; I'm in Amed/Tulamben for the next two months so let me know if you've any questions about diving here.
