I purchased a nice set of used steel 100's a few weeks ago. I'm heading down to Dutch Springs on Saturday. Purely as a rough starting point how much weight should I remove from my base weight to test buoyancy. Its a slight walk to the platforms so I'm just trying to give myself a starting point. Will be diving with a single tank at HP.

With a steel 80 HP PST she uses 6 lbs less when comparing to the weight she uses with the same wetsuit in the same water.

I dive the X-7 HP100 with a Drysuit and SS Backplate/Wing also have the 6lb STA I add 4 lb's of lead weight. So in all I use a total of 16lbs my G/F same set-up uses 14. I would use atleast a total weight of 20 Subtracting 2 lbs and if you have the options very the weight you bring. At the end of the dive get the tank to 600PSI~ and do your weight/Bouyancy check as this is the best way to get your weight dialed in.

And do same as you would if you feel too heavy subtract 2lbs and hold a normal breath at surace if you sink subtract another 2 etc.. untill you float eye level. The exhale and make sure you can slowly sink during your Full Exhale I would go to 10-15' and then slowly comback up one foot at a time and hold your depth for 30seconds to 1min till you reach 5'
