I think you are really not taking into consideration potential costs of "bringing he tank on the road". You are rally locked into buying tanks locally. If you ship them it's a huge risk. The tank might have inspection current but that would be marginal and you will not know until the next inspection. And then again some might certify cylinders that should not have certified.sorry that is easy to say when you have the funds. I don't.

In my experience I once got a tank for what seemed to be a good deal and at that time I could not validate how good or bad it was. It had hydro and vis.
At the end it turned out it had only 1 year left on the hydro, the valve required good rebuild and it was not really that clean inside. So if I combined all the expenses that I would need to put to fix it it was more expensive than buying a new tank If you were ready to offer 250 for a used tank you are not far from the budget for a new.
