Well the deal fell through. It seems my candid email offended him. He stated he was going to lower the price but not now. Wow I guess I really missed the privilege of buying from him. I'm scheming on a Faber 121 now. I think it is even in hydro and viz. $150

TNRonin, Just don't go on that it is in currant viz . make sure it is good in side . as I sated in my earlier post that I made that assumption and and My LDS recommended that I take a look inside . Good thing I am friends with the manager he gave me a great deal on all the work he did on the tank up to the point telling me it was a bad tank. I hope this one works out for you . you don't know how well they took care of it ,how it was stored and if they drained it down to nill in any dives . . I have gotten almost burned twice but lucky for me they both came out for the better for ME

The hydro guy pointed out that it is common for the cave divers to max fill to 4000psi and stretch the tanks to the point where they won't pass hydro after the first five years. He does a lot of hydros and dives a lot in that area so I'll take his word for it.

Your hydro guy is a moron.
I've done more hydro's than most people I know. In the 90's I was doing about 50 per day, every day for nearly a decade. I have 3 or 4 sets of doubles that are from 1980'ish that have only been filled to 4k. They pass hydro every single time. I have one set that's from the 70's that never fails. These tanks are guaranteed for 10,000 cycles at 4000 psi.

I really wish the bad information on this board would go away. If you don't know what you are saying, don't say it.

Oh, and $275 is too much to spend on a used tank. Pay another 50'ish bucks and you can have a new tank. The last two sets of double LP104's with bolts, bands, manifolds only cost me $350.

Good points! Us land locked people don't have the same deals that come available. If I can move on the 121 I'll have to drive down there. The seller doesn't want to ship.

The seller on the Faber 121 doesn't really want to ship so I'm stuck looking around locally. I found some Faber 95's that are out of hydro/viz for $180.

Y'all reckon these would be worth doing? I would get at least one. They look in good condition from the picture. I've asked for the dive history etc. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Just get a new tank. It will be a bit more expensive but without gambling and some companies ship it free

sorry that is easy to say when you have the funds. I don't.

What I the top of your budget ?Keep in mined that with a new tank your viz and fill (at most LDS )are included. As compared to a used tank you will have hydro , viz, fill to pay for witch could range around $50 to $70 . And then if the tank is rusted in side you will have to pay to have it tumbled and cleaned ,witch could run $20 and up. there are some really good deal to be had out there . May be if you could get with your LDS and have them order one for you when the put in an order for there shop and or multiple people ordering tanks that way you get a lot better cost on shipping . as in a bulk shipment insted of $30 to $50 in single tank shipment . That is how I got a good deal . you may have to wit a little longer to get one . I have learned my lesson on buying tanks
