Wow a GREAT DAY for a dive! SwimJim & and I hooked up the SSMoneysaver and towed her up to Sheboygan this A.M. and the weather looked a bit bad as we got to the Harbor the fog rolled in,but did burn off,
We did the trip north to the wreck in no time as we got north the fog was gone!
Jim was set up first as for me I was the poke,we dove dry and glad We did as at depth water temps were like 38+ or- Vis was in the 50'+
The wreck was a fun dive with lots to see,the steam boiler, crane, gen set, levers, and Jim found the vise and work bench after he ran out of film! Next time.
Jim shot a roll and I did get a few picks also!on the way back we checked a few moorings and found a good set of No#s for a DEEP WRECK! Will have to do a drop on her some day soon! Dive safe all!

Yep,had a great dive today. I could spend a few dives on this one taking photographs. Boilers, controls, donkey engine, generator, work bench with vise!!! Most of this I discovered after I ran out of film. The nikonos camera's biggest weak point. When your bored with the wreck there appears to be a large debris field trailing off to the northeast. Kind of a hike north of Sheboygan, about ten miles, but worth the trip. Thanks to the SS Money Savr we made it in good time. A great photo op.

Wow a dive weekend!
Hauled the ss moneysavr to Washington Island,Saturday took off for Pilot Island wreck site, weather was warm high 70's,had to go around Rock and Detroit Island from Jackson harbor our launch site,
Got to Pilot Island in a 1/2 hour had 1'-3' seas as we passed thru "deaths door" The dive was Great, the site has a WHS Mooring and at depth a line to go o all wrecks, vis was 30'-40' with a slight green tinge late year alage bloom, water temps mid 60's,fun site to dive and is a easy dive for new divers.Top side south winds did pick up a bit so its hard to burn a AL 80 at av depths of less than 40' I called the solo dive and did a 3 min SS stop and was top side to move out to the next dive,

SisterBay Door County;Deaths door was a hard ride, but as we got Bayside we got top speed and in a short time got to Sisterbay for fuel and a break for the family,I took on 7 gals of fuel the guy next to me took on over 500 Gals ouch! he had the $$
Trip out to the Meridian, less than 5 min we were on site, some fisherman pulled up after We had tied of to the WHS Mooring and set dive flags, winds were now S-SW at 15 -20mph+ did the dive, the winds did kick up the sand bar,the fihermen were off the site, were I was diving Tons of bass! the wreck was a large area, with 3-sections and a aver depth of 30'-40' a AL 80 had tons of air to use! vis was down to 30 + or - and a green tinge of alage, water in the 60's fun dive, but the top side winds had me cut the solo short with ton of air left, top side the gang was glad Dad was up!

Off to The Fleetwing wreck on the way back to Washington Island,Near Gills rock in a Bay lies the Fleetwing, this was to be the last dive of the day, this dive 15'-20' water in the 60's was a Great last dive of the day vis was 50'+the boys fished the wreck as I did a out tour for other out sections I have found in the past, then top side to tell them places to cast! they did catch a few bass and threw them back! wow a great day! back thru deaths door to Jackson harbor, and to some chow and drinks!

Sunday, hard winds from the south kept us in Washington harbor, but the wreck of the Louisiana lies off the shore, so did a dive and this was a FUN dive! ran into a northern as my bluegills split real quick from me feeding them, took tons of photos, did a out tour of the site and the boys fished the perch, bass, bluegills, and gobies after dad told them the locations! Hard again to burn the 80,but called the dive to pull up on Schoolhouse beach to do a shore lunch, and relax, did some tubing with the boys, man it was fun till my son launched me off the tube! Man a great day! On the way back into Jackson harbor had to pull a stranded RagBagger=sailboat out of the muck.Got him out and met him at the dock to return a tow line I let him use.
Today was to do a shore dive with a local to see a wreck or whats left off West harbor but man the winds were bad so we called it the day and time to go home.

*Note,Doorcounty has tons of fun dive sites, shore dives for free! see Chuck at Greenbay Scuba for a map,If you buy stuff he may throw it in! Jim at the Shoreline runs a GREAT wreck tour based on diver skills and weather! see him at Gills Rock well worth the trip,But he books up quick so call,If you use your own boat buy a chart,Man seen some big boats being pulled out with damaged props, keels, fried motors due to cloged water intakes and so on !
Bass on Meridian Wreck,Northern on Louisiana, bluegills,Fleetwing

Were you on the "Diver's Delight" boat? If so, you guys pulled up right as I finished my dive. Nice (almost) meeting you. Beautiful day (could have stood smaller waves for my smaller boat). Vis was nice, and bottom temp of 45.
