The Instructor that did my OW checkout told me ,"that women have ruined the sport "demanding" all the colors - everything should be black".

This is interesting. I'm a woman, and I've always prefered mostly black in dive gear. If something is colored I prefer the colors that tend to be sold as "men's colors" rather than the "women's colors." In shops and catalogs I used to see many wetsuits and BCs clearly intended for woman (due to style or size) in colors like pink. (I hate pink!) I always wondered if this was what the manufacturers or shops just thought women wanted, or really was what sold.
I just went and looked at a couple online catalogs and was pleased to see no pink. Lots of black, if there's accents of some sort blue is common. Did see some wetsuits where men's came with blue panels and women's with purple - maybe purple is the new pink. Wonder if the trend to black is the manufacturers trying to follow a different fashion trend, make everything look like tech gear?
