... I believe this was an OW student who had no clue about what he should be buying. He wanted to buy his first regulator after his checkout dives and wanted to choose between Aqua Lung and Apeks. This is how the difference was explained to him by the sales rep:

"They are both owned by the same parent company but you have to ask yourself whether you would like to own a battle tank or a Rolls Royce. Aqua Lung brand is the Rolls Royce of scuba regulators. It stands for tradition and comfort. Apeks on the other hand is a battle tank. It stands for pure indestructability. Think about it. If you would like to wake up next to a sexy woman with status then you want Aqua Lung. If you want to wake up next to a faithful wife who may not look like a model from outside but will be with you through thick and think and will stand next to you on your death bed then go for Apeks."

Users of Apeks and Aqua Lung. Do you see your regulators that way?

Well pimp my ram! That puts my USD/Aqualung in a whole new light!

The man (it was a man, right?) definitely has a gift for technical communication.

I definitely do not want to use that analogy explaining my wife why I want to buy another USD Royal Aquamaster. :)

What if the customer is not into women and would rather drive a Prius?
