Welcome! Well Seasoned Diver here. First dive in 1972.
Awesome! I did my first dive as well in1972 but only got the ‘resort’ course certificate. We lived in Antiguan at the time so was still able to do lots of dives before becoming NAUI certified.

What’s interesting is the number of folks like ourselves who took up diving at an early age and still do it in some capacity or the other. I guess this is what defines us.

Hello all,

Yes, old diver here. First certified with NAUI in 1976 and did an instructor course 1984 never instructed, but worked for a few summers diving on marine biology projects. Only a warm water diver now when on vacation. Having been out of the dive world for some time I’m amazed at all the courses and certifications available today that wasn’t even conceived of when I started. Certainly will enjoy the banter and if I chip in hopefully I won’t sound too much like a crusty old salt lol.
I started diving in 1969, but got certified much, much later than that. So, there are a number of us crusty salts on the Board. Have fun. Post often.
