You just need someone to really fix the problem G250. If you replace the orifice, spring, and balance chamber, that will do it. You might not need all those parts, especially the balance chamber, but they're all fairly cheap, so there you are. My guesses (and they are guesses) are that you have a nicked orifice or a worn spring. The worn spring can cause problems because it won't be consistent with the pressure; I've seen it happen and it makes them hard to tune.
You should also consider storing the G250s with the purge just slightly depressed (like I feel on Monday mornings) to take any extra pressure off the seat.
If you are totally sold on getting a different 2nd stage for an octo, but you want something appropriate for your current set up, a G200 (or G200B) might be nice, or even a metal case 109.
