Hi All,

Just got a brand spanking new Atom2. Download this beta of the Oceanlog, and I have to say I'm mightly disappointed. Coming from a programming background I don't like it at all, the HCI is very lacking and doesn't inspire great confidence... It looks like all values are stored in Imperial and converted 'on-the-fly' so when you change the measurement its recalculating the values hence the -17.8'c as the default value for the temperature (as this is zero in 'F)

Haven't got a cable, but I'm tempted to see how the information is retrieved from the PDC via USB.

Would Oceanic be willing to provide details how the data exchange works between their PDC and OceanLog? So people can roll their own software? Provided its on a Open source licence (so no body can make money from it?)

Okay Guys, I got bored this evening and threw together something I feel is more friendly on the eyes...Honest opinions?

Need to correct format the PDC columns etc, but was mainly looking at layout!

Rich:Looks good to me! Does your version correctly handle lifetime dive number? Do you have the ability to import existing ".dat" files?
Tom

Very nice layout Rich.
Is this reading the access DB directly?

If you email/pm me a dat file I'll have a look. :D

As to the life time dive number, I'm a little unsure what that is suppose to do, as its a readonly field, I would of thought you should be able to edit that?

Rich: Per previous posts in this and other similar threads, when you attempt to edit the LTDN, it turns the dive numbers into bizarre huge numbers, and crashes the program. In my case, it even corrupted my "log" file. That is why I am hoping that someone can find a way to import dat files to reconstruct a log file. I'll get you one of my "dat" files asap.
Tom

Been working on it this morning:

I can now view all values in either Imperial or Metric
Now calculating (correct) SAC in both Imperial and Metric
Calculates the pp02, depending on depth, mix of current cylinder
Formatted the PDC Data with correct values

Working on overlaying more information on the graph (Temperature, Pressure remaining etc)

PM me yoru email address and I'll send you a .dat file to use :D

New functionality:

Reordering of the LTDN!

Hmm.. I'll design a GUI layout. Maybe you'll like it and implement it. If not.. oh well... no biggie :)
