Did you remember to turn ALL of your clocks back????

CONGRATS DODGERS!!! - And thus will endeth my incessant rooting for them to win the World Series. Now the big question is . . . Back-To-Back????

AVALON TRIP DATE CHANGE - I've mentioned this before but we had an Avalon trip scheduled for Saturday, November 7. We're moving it to Monday, November 9. It will be a 9AM departure out of San Pedro, 6PM leaving Avalon on the way back. $150 covers you for Express, taxi, diving, tanks. The only caveat here is that I'll need to know if you want to go by Noon Friday as I have to confirm or cancel the reservation by then. 310/652-4990 if you want to go. We've been having good luck lately. And if all goes well this week, there will be a new attraction to see in the Park. (I'll tell you more about it next week.)

OCEANIC PPX COMPUTER UPGRADE - If you own one of these, there's a software upgrade you should download. From Oceanic: We have released a new firmware update for the PPX computer which corrects a red error or calibration screen issue. Please note: this update should be performed using the USB cable included with the product. You can update your PROPLUS X firmware (operating software) to the newly released revision 1D02 using the "Check for New Firmware Update" feature of the current version of the DiverLog for PC. Alternatively, you can also follow the "How to Update Firmware to a Dive Computer" instructions in the DiverLog for MAC App. There is no need to return the unit to Oceanic. DiverLog for PC is available at https://ediverlog.com/Windows.html or DiverLog for MAC is available at the Mac App Store. Should you have any questions, please contact Customer Service by calling 1-888-270-8595 (8AM –5PM MST, Monday – Friday) or send an email to TAC@huishoutdoors.com.

WHY AVALON DOESN'T LIKE SANTA ANA WINDS - The short version is that the winds blow straight into the Avalon Harbor and they have to tuck all the boats into the Casino side of the harbor lest they get damaged. The wind-generated waves also make the Park undiveable, as was the case last week on Monday. The shot below from Mark Guccione should give you an idea of how dangerous it was, as that's about a 3-5' wave breaking on the Park stairs and the other one shows large waves breaking by Antonio's.

ONE BOAT VICTIM - There was a boat that got trashed and it has a diving connection as well. The old Wild Wave, which used to leave out of 22nd Street Landing, got smashed against the Descanso rocks. Not sure what its final fate will be although there's been some gossip about trying to plant it in the Park.

BELUGA WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR - We leave you tonight with a video showing that Beluga Whales must have a sense of humor as this one seems to enjoy messing with a seagull who's trying to eat a fish. I'm amazed the gull doesn't just fly away: SEA GULL & BELUGA.

And that'll do it for now. Have a great week, wash your hands, wear your mask, DON'T FORGET TO VOTE BY TUESDAY, and let's go diving soon!!!
