US Divers MH8A Transmitter troubleshooting
Excellent....an entirely new one for $120. Is a good deal. Although, I will admit to being a little disappointed that we don't get to hear about the old one being opened and explored..... Well, plus the $50 I paid for the old one, but $170 isn't bad for a brand new one either.scubaboard.com
Shearwater transmitter failure
My Shearwater transmitter failed during my last trip. Com failure showed on both my Perdix and Teric for the entire trip of 30+ dives. From first failure, com was never re-established. Based on my superficial visual inspection of the transmitter, I think there was a part (retaining screw?) that...scubaboard.com
MH8A (PPS) Transmitter stopped working
It was a few years old....stopped during a dive. Tried new batteries, cleaning contacts, etc. Nothing. Any suggestions?scubaboard.com
Possibilities. Worst case, as of a year ago, Huish was replacing transmitters in the ~$120 range.
Awesome, my aqualung transmitter came back to live with this paper clip fix.I’ll dig around and see if I can find it. You can use a paper clip to touch the positive and negative terminals (wall vs bottom).
1) remove cap
2) remove battery
3) use paper clip to touch wall of transmitter gold strip to the bottom of the transmitter
4) battery and cap back on
5) try again
If the transmitter is shot, I would find little downside in doing the above myself, but not looking for liability if something happens to yours.
