November Get-Together?

Okay, I am reviving this thread to see what's going on!?!?!? After a disappointing "TS Noel" Storm out resulting in no warm water diving last week in Florida - I am ready to get WET! So is anyone going to be diving on Saturday? We can't do the Sunday boat dives because of our upcoming holiday plans ............

So .... anyone?

Hey Sarah, welcome back. Sorry to hear my weather dance didn't help with your last day there!

I don't think I'm going to be able to make the Sun (11/18) boat dive now either because I might have to work, but I'm still hoping to be down there for the Sat get-together. We haven't heard anything about the cleanup thing, so I think we should just plan some shore dives. I still really want to try Coral St. We went by there yesterday but it looked a little rough, so went back to Lover's and ended up calling the dive because the vis was so bad. We did get in a great Monastery dive in the afternoon though.

Sorry to hear about the viz - what's up with the weather lately?! I haven't been at all in touch with N. California weather - so I need to check it out. I might try to get a dive soon. I would love to go this weekend but not sure that will be possible.

I am definitely game for Saturday. Would love to try Corral Street or MacAbee. Or Lover's ... or ..... I'm game for just about anything as long as it is not too rough getting in/out and there's some good company!

I can't wait to see some reports on the diving this weekend!!! Or better yet - some photos!!

There is a slim chance I might have my dry suit back this Friday (having some mods done to it). If I get it then I am game for Saturday. I want to try my new Otter Bay 12mm custom hood.

my, those are lovely pics! Some sort of wide angle lens? Very nice.

I dove Del Monte yesterday as part of a Rescue class I was helping with, and the red tide was horrific. It was like a night dive at 10'. According to folks on the Escapade, this red tide has been around for weeks but seems to stop around the mouth of the bay....somewhere near Coral St. So sites to the south of that, like Carmel, should be just fine. So I'd recommend anyone planning on diving soon to head south.

I'm so broke these days I can't even pay attention. Looks like for this month at least I'm limited to diving the North Coast, which is both good diving and a short drive away.

Great pics! I should take photography lessons from you. I especially love the sea nettle in front of the sun.

Marcus, Lover's didn't have any red tide either on Sunday (vis wasn't great, but no red tide). I seem to remember seeing no red tide at Breakwater earlier in the week as well.

Sara, I should be diving Saturday the 18th...I need to arrange my make up dives for my rescue course since I got sick the day of the rescue scenarios. This weekend (10 Nov) I will be around and about the channel islands on a liveaboard. I'll post pictures when I get back. I should get in at least 12 dives from the pace they normally do. I get to test out my new strobe too, again. Vis wasn't great to test out the strobe on the first dive at Lover's, although i got a pic or two and I didn't have a crucial piece for the second dive at Monastery. Oh and I'm so scatterbrained lately, where are we diving that Saturday? I should be free. I keep forgetting to ask Bruce about the cleanup....
