Looks like (for now) the wind is going to split the island. That makes diving East and West side a no go. Hope it gets more east as forcast progresses since now it looks like port possibly closed from Wednesday morning to Sunday Morning. Just a few degrees more East and Port may not close as long.

If all those projections are correct it may not close at all. It's due north and west of it that closes the port.

Awaiting the 8PM port Captain's report:letsparty:

Closed as of midnight, subject to change in the AM, stay in contact with your dive op. Current winds are light (downtown, real time WX station on top of Villa Las Anclas hotel:
Tempest ) and the current port captain has been pretty reasonable in the past.

Two boats have gone by Baraccuda in the last few minutes.
Still closed?

Are they longer than 24 meters? If so, they are not covered by the port closure.

Do they vary the length of boats they allow out in bad weather based on how bad it is expected to be?

Aldora's Falicity used to be able to go out when the smaller boats were docked, but it's not near 24 meters.

Maybe they raised it to 24 meters to prevent certain operators to be able to go out in risky weather.
