My good friend who worked there a few years ago says its a very lonely place for a DM. He lasted only a few months because of boredom. While there he spent a lot of money on satellite phone calls just so he can talk to his friends. He says the DMs are not allowed to socialize with guests except on the boat. I dont know if that has changed.

still hasn't... the premium you pay for amanpulo is the exclusivity and absolute (as in absolute) privacy... that's why tom cruise and robert de niro come over often - it's resort policy to not give a crap who the person is you're serving

you can't even "look" at them unless they look at you

but hell - for $1,000/ night WITHOUT food MINIMUM i guess the guest can have you walking around naked if they wanted

Knowing AmanPulo . . . it's like a CASTAWAY island with the works . . . It's good I guess if you're a guest . . but im pretty sure as a DM . . egawd 2 months of sand, sea, palm trees. . . underwater . . . everyday . . . uhm . .

insider info, amanpulo will not be around for mcuh longer. hopefully the rates will go down by late 2007.

ishbaby:
they'll go down 50% off . . . $500 a night . . :p haha.

Its currently $550 a night not a $1000. it will go down 40% so the effective price range will be like the higher end suites of nami which run $250-$350 a night.

hehehehe good for the locals. are they just lowering their rates or are they closing shop?

subject to negotiations. its all in the biz section of star and inquirer. aman was doing fine but we neglected our tourism department and other asian countries took this oppurtunity to pounce.

so true with the tourism. Senador Gordon had a great thing going then they pushed him out. Bunch of monkeys running this damn country.
