    I did my own experiment:
    nitrox dives + 3 post-dive magaritas = tired
air dives + no margaritas = tired

Which gas would you rather use?

I'm a geezer and dive Nitrox whenever it's available for dives deeper than 18m.

My local diving is generally 28-30m first dive followed by a 20-24m dive and I dive 34% followed by 40% giving me better NDLs on both dives than using air.

I don't normally use it since most of the time I don't actually know where I'm diving until I clear the point and see how the wind is. Many of my favorite dives are too deep for nitrox. I do however add some legit time to my deco or safety stop.

If it suits your diving though, there really isn't a down side, and allegedly some significant benefits, assuming you leave your computer on air. If you're using nitrox just to extend your time, there's no safety advantage, but there is advantage in that you are on the bottom diving, rather then hanging around in the shallows waiting or hanging on an anchor line waiting for your computer to let you up!

    And welcome back!

According to math in your equation:
    NitrOx + 3 M = T
    Air + 0 M = T

    This, NitrOx + 3 M = Air
So according to this the difference between diving NitrOx and Air equals to 3 Margaritas.

That is a pretty compelling evidence!

When I was younger, so much younger than today, I always wanted to go out dancing after dinner on dive days.

64 and I dive air for one or two tank days, If I am diving three tanks or more nitrox if available.

Just looking at cumulative nitrogen loading, I notice no difference on my energy levels.

Most of my dives are group dives and someone is low on gas before I am so extended bottom time is no advantage to me since we surface for other reasons.

I don't know if you are joking with this, but....

Whatever the mechanism, recent research indicates older people do appear to be more susceptible to DCS.

I used to only dive with Nitrox (32%) at one of my regular sites where it gets to 22m.

At my other sites I rarely have worry about my NDL as the max depth is only around 15m. Recently at one site I was astounded when my NDL got to around 5 minutes while I still had 90bar left so I now dive most sites with 26%.
