My AOW training has included night dive which was part of the course! Do you understand the meaning of core dive?
No one here has answered any question for DAN. LOL.
You better go and find out what is exempt from your DAN insurance! Plenty to learn.

Even some of the latest PADI AOW divers would not have night dive experience if they had not chosen the subject in the original training.

Night dive USED to be one of the three core dives in PADI AOW course. So you really need a AOW card to do a night dive(my experience) but that is history.
Would the operator insist on night dive speciality card? No idea but many of them do request the DEEP speciality card to go beyond 30m.
Many dive guides do not have DM qualification.
As for the insurance coverage? Interesting question because you were not trained to do night dive!

DAN does not differentiate between day diving and night diving. DAN covers diving period. Yes DAN insurance would cover it.
Padi divers being offered a night dive in an AOW course is not relevant to the OP's question.
There is no requirement to have any additional certification for night dives.

Two OW divers can decide to buddy up and go on a night or a day dive if they wish. Nothing to prevent them doing so.

Can a DiveMaster guide a night dive for OW certified divers that have not done the night dive course?

Lol, it was fun being lights out. I had very close encounters with a cuda inches away from my face and a charging Jack

1st flashlight failed bc of low battery. 2nd failed bc of corrosion in the contacts. Birth are working fine now but i won't buy another product from China again

so, operator failure in >= 50% of the cases, and China is to blame. One assumes you spent at least half of your formative years on the mainland?
