Wow!! :11: Does anyone know what kind of mix he had or speculate what he should have?

H2Andy:
Triple who?

That’s probably the reasoning behind their marketing idea with Gomez—Triple-L is a company that manufactures and rebrand dive equipment (mostly BCs) for others. I guess they now want to push more products under the Triple-L brand.

My first reaction would probably be, “Nuno who?”

Vie:
Oops, I stand corrected...

Triple-L is bringing out a Nuno Gomez “Signature Line” of dive gear.

Is it Gomes or Gomez? He's not Spanish or Latin is he? First, the Poles where in involved ....

hehehe... actually, he's been around for a while, and has had several records.

i think at one point he had the world's record for a cave dive, and he broke
another depth record a while back...

oops.. right from his website (i wasted a lot of time googling this) (click
on Nuno for bio):

Yeah, I KNOW THAT—I just thought that the average buyer’s reaction would be “Nuno who?”

Sorry I misspelt his name—it’s Gomes. He’s from South Africa.

i don't know... maybe he's better known to Triple-L's target audience

my point was that this guy is not an unknown in the South African dive market

Maybe. I’m not sure who Triple-L’s target audience would be though—wannabe tech divers, perhaps? I am just a little surprised as dive manufactures generally don’t want to be associated with a diving endeavour that may result in a well-publicised death (and whispers of equipment failure...). OMS did not try to market a John Bennett or Mark Ellyat “Signature Line” after those world-record dives (I guess they have no need to as OMS was already quite an established brand).

Ok, point taken.
