Hey all,

I wanted to introduce myself here. I'm brand spanking new to diving so I'm sure you guys can have a lil' fun picking on me and breaking me. I just completed my class and confined water, and am actually waiting on the weather to do my check out dives. I'm actually a young gun, a college student at Ohio State and I live in SE Ohio. Ohio State has a moderatly active dive club, but it sounds like they do a lot of repetitive dives at Twin Querries, and what not so I'd also like to find people who do some diving in Indiana and Gilboa. I know Pa is outside this clubs range but has anyone ever dove in Eerie Pa? I hear they have some decent wrecks there and really good viz for Lake Eerie.

Anywyas thanks again guys I look forward to the adventures ahead, and please take it easy on this newbie.

AL

Welcome -
There is more than one newbie around, so we can stick together. These folks are great. I have been reading a lot, and learning a ton.

Good to hear... it looks like they have really good traffic through the boards too which is great for my short attention span. j/k

Did you get wet last summer or will this be your first season diving?
Have you dove lake Eerie at all (I saw ya were form Cleveland so...)

this will be my first summer diving in the great lakes. Started in Jamaica. I'm looking forward to diving some GL wrecks.

When will you do your ow?

Welcome to the board. Lived in Cleveland for years but now in Fl. Better diving here and no snow. Hope to see you both around.

I'm done with the classes I just need to do the check out dives so we'll get those done in may hopefully

Naw get em done in April so you can join us for the Meet & Greet. Maybe you can convince the instructor to do your ow portion over that weekend, guaranteed to be a good time.

Welcome Al, hope you enjoy SB!

I'd like to get them done in April, I want them as soon as possible. Getting an appropriate wet suit right now is one of my biggest concerns, and I think my instructor waits till may to do the OW check out dives. Right now I'm in like a limbo being done with the class but not having the dives.

Plus I can't beat the deal I have with my instruactor on gear he's bene very generous to me in that reguard b/c I am a college student so building my gear up is going to be a slow and painful process.
