Mares Avanti Quattro+, Scubapro GoSport, ForceFin.
I like my Force Fin Pros (which are a little stiffer and better suited for scuba than the originals).

The problem is they are crazy expensive new and hard to find used. Since many people have trouble getting used to them, it's hard to give them a general recommendation.

But for someone who prefers flutter kick (or dolphin kick) and wants a super comfortable and easy to don and doff fin, they are great. You can even walk in them reasonably well for short distances such as from your seat to the dive platform or jump door. :-)

My only complaint is they are kind of awkward for treading water.

Flippers like wings:)

wherever you are at, rent a pair from your local shops, borrow from other divers, then try them in a pool or whatever. Just expose yourself to as many different types and styles as you can. even the dreaded split fins. I love my scubapro twin jet 2 fins. the go fins are very maneuverable but when I was in Cozumel they lacked the power in current.

These have a very unusual rating profile on Amazon. I pay attention to such things for basically everything that I buy from them, and it's extremely unusual to have 86% of ratings at five stars. It's also really odd for the rest of the reviews to be one star- 14%. On the face of that, it seems to indicate that you either detest these booties or you really love them. So let me ask- why do you think someone would hate them?

As I said I freely admit I have a cold water bias so I don't mind the heavy duty nature of these booties. I am guessing the one stars come from people who find it be very heavy to wear in tropical conditions.

I consider the construction on these a plus because these 4th Element booties are both a fin booty and a great substitute for normal footwear on dive days, they can be worn in the water, on the boat, on the dock etc.
