New taxi rate schedule

As of yesterday I saw the new pesos rate schedules have been put in place for fares.

I didn't get a picture to share but they look to be raised by 20%.

Eg. An 80 pesos fair Tuesday is 95 Thursday.

The couple drivers we spoke with are unhappy because it hurts those paying in pesos (many locals) but doesn't effect those paying in dollars (mainly foreigners). Though it is thought to fix the foreigners trying to get a better exchange rate for foreign currency while in Mexico by raising the prices in pesos to match the exchange rate better.

If I have a chance I'll post up the new rates.

How odd the Taxi Union's page on tarifs is still a dead link, as it has been for years now:
taxicozumel , it's almost as if they wish this to be double secret infomation.

Perhaps El Graduado could find and post the new schedule.

Don this is the best chart I have seen showing the zone to zone pricing. I am regularly asked by other divers:what is the correct fare from point 'A' to point 'B'? Where did you find the source document? I would like to get a little cleaner copy that I could print out, these are a little fuzzy when printed.

I like to have these in my phone to pull up on the spot. Arguing with a taxi driver can go either way, but knowledge helps. Go to Cozumel 4 You Public Group | Facebook
Then find the Search box in the upper right corner, insert Taxi.

Deleted, built a new easy print chart / zone map and used the incorrect zone chart, back to square 1

So a fare that used to be 50 Peso's is now 75? That is a pretty hefty increase. I still won't use the airport shuttle though.
