With the fare chart that we now have, there're no excuses. Know what the correct fare is, get out, pay the driver, thank them, and walk away.

When they refuse to show it to you, even after you ask for it, or they take you to the wrong place, it makes it more difficult. Also, when they try to charge three of us three fares instead of the single fare, it gets annoying. I shouldnt have to fight them to follow their own guidelines.

Trust me, it works. I have done it for years on the mainland, where the drivers are much, much more skilled at screwing passengers, and infinitely more ruthless about it.

This the whole idea of posting the fare cards, if enough people know the true rates it keeps everyone honest.

Were there, perhaps, 3 different stops? If so, that is what they will do. If I am going from the caleta back into town, and need a cab, I just get off where everyone else does and walk from there. That way it's only one fare.
