I just read a report from DEMA on the Fourth Dimension Thermocline wetsuit. It is made from a Gore-Tex clone shell with a polartec lining. Claims to be as warm as a 2.5mm neo suit without the buoyancy.

Has anyone tried one of these? Would work as an underlayer for a neo wetsuit?

I honestly havent read anything about it so let that be said,
but the first thing that pops into my head is that belief that was around of using metals in wetsuits to insulate by "reflecting heat", as far as I know those are a spoof and a selling tactic.
But like I said i dont know anything about htis new Fourth Dimension Wetsuit

It's the Fourth Element Thermocline range. They do Ts, long-sleeved Ts, women's tops, shorts, and the Explorer full suit.

They pack up real small, can be machine-washed, dry fast, wick away moisture, are about as warm as 1-1.5mm neoprene (in my opinion) and are neutrally buoyant. Don't see any reason you couldn't use it under another suit for added thermal protection.

Check out their website: www.fourthelement.com
