Do you service your regs after a period of non-use?

My regs were new Oct 2002 and got 10 dives in before it got too cold for me (and skiing distracted me). I'll probably start diving again in about a month - which means a 5-6 month period of non-use.

If there are no obvious problems with the reg when pressurized on the surface, is there any reason to service them before I dive?

Thanks

If you wash regulator in fresh water after diving, probably there will be no need for servicing new regulator at least for two years.
