let me see if I can get some Korean friends to help me post some messages including this photo to the larger dive shops in Korea, PADI Korea, and the other agencies about this unnacceptable behaviour.
thanks paks... if you have the time while you're in anilao and PG it would also help a lot if you can talk to the korean ops there

not that we're pointing a finger but maybe it works if they're told off in their own language by a countryman rather than some filipino or white person they probably couldn't care less about

maybe they would understand that behaviour such as this is universally unacceptable and not funny... they might not be crapping in their backyard (i bet doing the same thing in seoul tower or guandong palace would raise hackles) but it is our backyard their crapping in...

i wish it wasn't hangul written on the coral...

Jag

Im hoping it can at least be printed on the CCEF newsletter distributed in resorts.

Spoon:
you think he can write a story? this is of utmost importance to our marine parks.
remember what the inquirer did on the story of the whale sharks of donsol - from endangered dinner to protected natural wonder in practically no time

do not underestimate the power of the media to sway public sentiment - even that (#O(#()(&%%(@)#$* floozy kris aquino... but don't send her the photo, she'll just misinterpret it and say something tackless and irresponsible and next thing you know koreans are being lynched in the streets

i say SPREAD THE WORD!!! (lighting the torches and sharpening the pitchforks can come after)

well said jag, we can use the pics to get the public aware of whats happening below the water. hopefully they will catch on. its high time we did something about this.

I would also say, get your friends who are DM's in Anilao, next time they have a group of Korean divers, take them to THAT SITE and show them that defaced coral and tell them how long its going to take for it to recover. I'm sure they'll come up feeling bad...

they are educated and they know how damaginng their activities are. they just dont care or respect em becasue its not their home anyway. this is a wrong notion of environmental awareness that has to be done before it gets really out of hand.
