i am a divemaster-in-training in austin, texas, looking to buy my first drysuit. while i hope to attend DEMA 2010 before making my decision, i was quite impressed with a buddy of mine's recommendation of santi drysuits, a polish manufacturer i (and my instructor) have never heard of. an entry-level trilam suit with pockets, suspenders, and rockboots included! paired with a weezle, i'm looking a grand total with NAUI drysuit diver certification under $1500! is this too good to be true? has anyone here had experience with this manufacturer, and can compare it with more accessible brands like USIA & Bare/Pinnacle!

They certainly make nice dry suit underwear. They've actually been around for quite awhile. I've read good things about their dry suits, although I don't think I've ever seen one in person. Golem Gear carries them, along with quite a bit of other tech and rebreather gear.

cave excursions east near high springs florida has them, too. rich runs good sales periodically, so it might be worth a phone call.

Ok, if someone is getting Santi drysuits for this price somewhere, please PM me. I am certainly interested.

I've seen quite a few of them around. Several on serious divers who have put them through a couple of hundred dives over 1-2 years in serious conditions, and the suits look like new. None of the people I've met have been unhappy with their purchase. Actually couple who bought the Enduro said that they maybe should have gotten 'just' the Espace because it would have been enough.

I've looked at Santi as well. They seem to get good reviews and now have a repair/alteration facility in CA (I believe) for quicker turn-around. They also have a US sales person and website: http://www.santiusa.com/santi/index.php

I contacted Golem Gear a month or two ago about Santi suits, pricing, features etc. but never heard anything back ...

I'd really like to see the Santi suits "in person" some day. Might be a nice alternative to that "other brand"
