First day today, dove Cantarell and then San Juan. Saw the group of eagle rays on Cantarell but they were very shy and kept their distance. Could judst make tham out off in the distance out in the blue. On the way to La Choza to meet everybody. Norte is in now and may dive the east side tomorrow.

Never felt so good to be Blue!

I finally finished packing after seeing off family who were in town visiting. I'll be on the road to Houston in 30 and then up early to catch my flight. Arriving 10:14 AM local time and will be staying at Hotel Cozumel for the first night.
Looking forward to meeting and diving with all of you!

For those of you dining on lionfish and chasing eagle rays, I thought I should post a little note to remind you what you're missing back home.

Yup, woke up to craziness in Dallas too. I knew it was snowing last night, but didn't expect it to stick! I-35 was practically shut down @ NW Hwy. Trucks were sliding back down the ramp from I-35 to 635 thanks to the sand trucks not running.

Saw some reports in another thread of water temps in the low 70's in Cozumel in mid March.

How is it now? Do I need to bring a hood to Cozumel ?

I got out about 45 minutes ago and it was 79 degrees in the shore area near Scuba Club Coz. I'm going out for a night dive and will let you know what its like out on the reef if someone else doesn't beat me to it. I was wearing a 3mm shorty and was fine for an hour plus dive. I'll likely wear my 3/5 full this evening to keep any wind chilling away.

Port Closed? No problem East Side diving with Aldora...

No kidding!... That was my FIRST time to ever dive the East Side!... And I've been coming here since the 80"s!
I don't want to be seen as plugging any one dive operation, because I sure don't want this post moved to the "Commercial Threads"..... BUT, with the port closed, we were the only divers in the water this AM!... And on the East Side, no less!
It is like a whole different world over there!... The corals were HUGE and healthy!...Gigantic purple fans! Enormous stag horn corals!... And don't even get me started on the many old cannons, anchors, and cannon balls!
Hopefully Prop Joe, Sallye, and others that were snapping photos will post some more here.... Hint, Hint!
