Hi all

I'm probably being pathetic but over the last few years (I spend a lot of time doing macro photography) my exhaust bubbles seem to annoy me more and more. Both the noise and bubbles in my view when I'm focusing on a subject.

I currently use an Aqualung Titan LX which is a really great breathing reg for the price but I'm considering a few regs I've seen with wider exhaust tees.

I'm thinking that an XTX Apeks (either a DS4/XTX50 or even attach an XTX50 second to the Titan) ,a Zeagle Flathead reg or maybe an Atomic M1 might be better.

Any suggestions (apart from rebreathers or side exhausts!) ??

Why don't you look into a Aqualung Mistral its a new version of the old 2 hose reg and the bubbles will be behind you so no bubble interfearance with the camera.

or you can check out Vintage Scuba he sells rebuilt ready to dive 2 hose regs and has a few listed here. They are a little hard to get used to but no bubbles in front of you

hope this helps

Atomic M1. Or any Atomic retrofitted with the M1 exhaust.

All the best, James

I tried an old twin hose style regulator once many years ago and wasn't impressed with the resistance to inhalation, I've heard the Mistral is much the same and I don't think I'd be prepared to sacrifice that much breathing comfort! Pity- kinda cool!

Have heard that the M1 exhaust works well, and the new Apeks XTX regs have a wide exhaust tee but I don't know how effective it is?

Thanks for the feedback all- looks like the M1 could be way to go as far as bubble deflection.

I don't know if it's any different from the Titan, as far as bubbles, but I use the AL Legend Lx and have no trouble with bubbles.

Yup. I have both Atomic M1 and Apex TX100, and the Atomic exhaust is great for sending those bubbles away (although you wouldn't know it by the complaints from my rebreather buddy ;) ).

LOL!

Agree on the M1

The Sherwood Oasis and Maximus have some of the widest exhaust tees that I have seen.
