I left a message today for Sid inviting the shop instructors and DC's out for an intro dive. I know that you bring many students and divers to Lake Travis and look forward to having you out on the boat. Send me a personal email address and I will forward two site maps of locations that we have been diving.

Watch out for those Lake Travis Bears, they can be rough.....

Robert

so how is the vis on the other parts of the lake where you guys got to dive? (from the LTS boat).

Robert definitely runs a first class operation. I totally enjoyed the trip yesterday afternoon. He was thorough and very professional. Lots of extras on a boat that was configured specifically for scuba...plenty of room, dry storage, tank racks, spare tank with long hose for divers low on air during safety stop/deco, O2 and an AED on board, easy exit from the sides and front of the boat, nice ladder for reboarding the vessel...the list goes on.

Thanks for a great afternoon of diving, Robert!

Just wanted to post a kudos to Robert and Lake Travis Scuba. Robert truly runs a first class operation and has opened the doors for Texas divers (and others) to get to dive sites that aren't accessible for those of us without a boat or a rich uncle. It was nice to have entire dive sites to ourselves and maps to the goodies to boot.

Took the words right out of my mouth. The boat is set up perfect for diving and 8 divers doesn't seem crowded at all. Yesterday was great diving and we didn't even hit all the sites. Can't wait to finish up exploring the Old Scuba Park and do the grottos at Tom Hughes. Looking forward to more trips (and a couple cigars) with Robert. If anyone is into a weekday trip this summer, let me know. The lake should be calm during the week which would make for near perfect conditions.

Viz was pretty good. The first site was Starnes Island. Viz was around 15' at 40-60' below. The 1st thermocline was around 40' and wasn't too bad. After staying at depth for a minute or 2 you got used to it.
The second site was the old Scuba Park and viz there wasn't as good. Maybe 10' at about 40' below. The 1st thermocline was around 50-55' and dropped quite a bit. I never got a temp reading but I know it was cold. I was in my 3 mil and almost gave the "too cold" sign and aborted but we went back to 40' pretty quick.

Yes definitly, I soooo want to go to Tom Hughes, and back to the old scuba park. I was looking on his site, and realize we need to start schelduing our next trips. Im thinking first weekend of June is open for me (the one AFTER memorial day). Maybe hit up Tom Hughes and then back to the scuba park?

Also as far as weekday trips, he offers the sunset wednesdays, that would be awesome, although the rest of this month for me is booked up with no extra money for the boat. That is unless my rock climbing gear sells then I can get in at least 4 more dives this month. If you set something up Brandon , they will come.
