Lake Ouachita Road Trip (Oct 3/4)

Hey, Jeff, that's just one of those things. Life happens and sometimes it jumps up and slaps your wallet at the most inopportune times. No worries...I'm sure we'll be planning another trip there if the diving is as good as they say.

Dude, other have issues that prevent them from going that might otherwise be there this time, there will be follow-ups, as I have dove this lake and at least the day's I was there it was nice.

Sent you an e-mail. You missed it, little bro., Larry called me today to help out at Big Cypress as safety diver in a movie shoot tomorrow. Well, plans changed and they did it this afternoon. Chris and I were in the water and Larry in the boat, it was a hoot. Gotta' give a big pat on the back to little actress that climbed down the banks through the cypress knees and logs and swam the river on three takes. Maybe we'll make the credits :shocked2:

I am packing gear in three groups:
1) standard scuba gear + ancillary "save-a-dive" gear
2) "boy scout" bag containing compass, GPS, radio, maps, etc.
3) "overnight bag" containing toiletries and hotel type stuff with a limited amount of "camping" gear

I suppose I should make allowances for food in there somewhere but I always think about food at the very last second.

. . . . . and if I can say so, this having fun thing is a lot of hard work

I'll agree with the hard work part !!! but.... I don't think that me or any of my other scuba buddies would ever admit to thinking about food at the last second !!
