Hello all,

Me & the wife are taking the dog to the beach in Carmel over the Labor Day weekend and I would love to sneak in an early morning shore dive before the wife & dog get up in the morning.

Anyone up for an 6:30-7:30 am dive on either Monday, Sept 1 or Tuesday, Sept 2. I'd be up for any shore dive in the Monterey/Carmel area, conditions permitting.

anybody have a favorite location, or good ' ol breakwater?

Hey Robin,

You're still planning on diving Sat? I think I'll have to come along :) We've had some ridiculously good dives off MacAbee lately, so if BW doesn't work out, that's always an option.

I'm diving on Sat. I talked with Joe above and we are planning on meeting at 8am. I'm ready to get down there.

This last weekend was concerts up in SF so no diving - I'm feeling withdrawal symptoms.

Hey Mike,

I'm in Roseville, and I might be interested in carpooling for a labor day weekend dive.

Well, It looks like my wife made plans for us to go to Southern California to visit relatives, so I will have to catch you guys next time.

If I was certified I would stay away from Breakwater...leave that for training..also expect all inns, hotels ect...to be raising their prices ALOT..hotels that we usally pay less than $100 to stay at are going for best price of $140 that weekend....

Whats wrong with the breakwater? If conditions are good, as with any place, there is some great diving there.

Lately, every BW dive I've been on has left me totally pleased, and given me a new respect for the place. I've seen stuff at BW that I haven't seen at more exclusive sites such as Lobos (huge variety of nudibranchs, a 3-4ft flatfish, octopi, etc.). You do have to kick out quite a bit more at BW, and if you're by the wall there's all that line to worry about, too.

What is this kicking you are talking about? I am not familiar with this term? :D

....it's what you have to do when you get a finger cramp....

BTW, Janet and I will be diving Lobos Sunday and Monday w/ Harry. Considering the Pinnacles, and out around Granite Point towards MonoLobo. Or something.

All the best, James
