yup, mine isn't anywhere near as bad as yours, but I do have a few spots that scabbed up. I talc'd the heck out of it last night and let it sit stretched over one of my 80's until this morning. I'm sure having just cut a ring on your's made it pretty rough. Hey, at least you've got a good pair of scissor's in your dive kit now

what is a sane temperature to dive with a 7 mm? I just started diving last summer so I'm not sure when to jump on in. Keep in mind, I want to be able to walk back out of the water.

I like to bring a thermos of hot/warm water with me. When you are cold after the dive pour it in your suit to take the chill off. I will second calling the dive if you are cold. I like to wait till the temps get to 50F.
