I'm a bit jaded after having to leave all my local FB diving groups when they became plastered with spammers using this style of introduction.
When someone joins the board today and then pushes clothing, followed by another new member saying "cool merch", it is spam to me.

Exactly how I read it as well. I've never seen a legitimate business run this way. This is slightly different, usually it is "check this new line of..." with a follow up of "I just got mine and love it!". All new members or members with small post counts full of BS posts. Add in 'comments turned off' for the sure sign it is BS.

admin typically has them banned as fast as they are notified.
