I just finished a great 4 days of wreck diving in Key Largo.

The only trouble we had was getting good nitrox fills for our doubles. Most LDS close at 5 and don't open until 8 am which means coming back in early or leaving later in the morning.

Since we were diving on a private boat we wanted to leave early or come in later.

Is there a dive op or local op that is flexible on filling?

I'm sure the locals don't have to fight the LDS schedule for their fills.

Ocean Divers in Key Largo is the largest (and original) nitrox fill facility in the upper keys. You might want to consider 1, bring a lot of bottles and rotate them out, or 2, rent a pile of bottles. I'm sure if you explain your timing you can make appropriate arrangements DIVE KEY LARGO WITH OCEAN DIVERS - SCUBA diving, snorkeling, PADI diver training, IDC & CDC - Instructor & Career Development Center

I can't believe that the Keys doesn't have more Nitrox fill stations!

Joel - Ocean Divers plays "games" more so than any other fill station in the Upper Keys. Their games are fairly well documented here and range from requiring tank wrappers on anything getting filled with nitrox to requiring O2 cleaning when pumping premix. Exactly which "game" is being played mostly depends on who is working at the time. And then there's always the thing about their fill prices being about double what some other shops are charging.

Nitrox bands?

Listen......that's the sound of the door closing as I walk out.

I think you would find that just about all shops offer nitrox in the Key Largo area.

Finding nitrox is not the issue.

As OP says, getting them filled quickly and early in the morning is the issue.

Is there any place in Key Largo that will fill the tanks so we can be on the water at 7 am? That's the question.

Most of the OPS. Will fill after you jump threw hoops and play all there games. Then they say my boats are coming in and they have to be filled. And this is after the boats have left. how all dose it take????
