And now so do Alan and Bonnie! Thanks for the address, ScubaTexan.

Does anyone have an update on Alan's condition/status?

I have Alan's home address, if anyone would like it. For privacy purposes, please send me a PM and I'll send the address in my reply.

Thanks, I just sent a couple of PM's with the address. I was thinking it might be such a good idea to post it in a public forum.

We are at $1825 in my Paypal but someone brought up a good point in a PM. If you are mailing a check I will not have that information for the update. I just wanted to update everyone on my Paypal contributions just for accountability.

Here is a message from I got from Bonnie. I included the whole thing for ya'll.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello to all,
Well I am sorry to say Alan has had a set back that reared its ugly head yesterday afternoon, not many hours after I emailed ya'll.
He finished up with P.T. and was totally exhausted so He laid down to get some rest before S.T {speech therapy} He did not have the energy to work with Rebecca, {speech pathologist} and she realized that and told him that she would skip that session and work 2 times tomorrow.
In the meantime they had taken blood count around lunch time and his wbc's {white blood count} was elevated, which means a sign of infection or inflammation.
Then nurse called the Dr to let him know and he ordered a chest xray given all the trauma/problems he received due to the car accident.
They took him for a chest xray via wheelchair and upon returning helped him back to bed, he had labored respirations and I told the nurse to check his 02 saturation level, it was under 90% which is not good saturation so they put oxygen on him, which did not make much difference even as they increased the amt.
They put a face mask oxygen on with increased level and only improved to very low 90's.
She again contacted the Dr and they did numerous blood draws, etc and consulted a medical team.
she came immediately and ordered more blood tests, arterial blood gases, blood cultures, urine cultures. they started and iv and hung 2 different iv antibiotics.
In the meantime his fever spiked to 103.2 {at the beginning of his activities}
They saw fluid in base region {bottom} right side, in between the lung and the chest wall.
Took him back to do a Ct of the chest to get a more clear view of now the 2 spots they saw. Once they completed the Ct scan they transferred him to ICU.
Finally around 2am they did a procedure to removed the fluid from the right lower region and got about 500ccs of pleural fluid out, relieving him of the shortness of breath quickly, thank goodness. They sent that to lab for cultures also and consulted a Thorasic team to figure out what and how to get to the other spot of questionable fluid or abscess in the right upper inner lung region.
I left the hospital around 2:45am and then headed back around 9:30am cause the nurse called and said Alan was a little confused, so I re assured him that I was on my way.
When I arrived a Throasic Dr was in examining him and said they will review the Ct scan and decide a plan soon.
The medical ICU docs then came in and said that Alan's blood cultures were growing bacteria which is Staph and most likely due to all the invasive tubes he required due to the accident.{most likely the chest tube that he had so long} The lung fluid had some bacteria also, but they thought the culprit is the Staph. He is on triple antibiotics and is resting better today, breathing fine on room air, no fever just tired and does not remember what all he went through yesterday and up to this morning, Thank you Jesus!!!
The plan is to wait to hear from the thorasic team later today, if they do not want to do surgery today, they will move him to a regular medical floor until they decide. The ICU Doc wants to let him hang out until he hears so we wont have to do unnecessary moving.
He is very comfortable at this time, denies any bone pains while he is on the air mattress bed so I did come out to get everyone updated.
I am doing O.K. especially when I saw how fast they moved on things and how his breathing is back to easy normal rhythm!!!
Again, thanks for all the words of encouragement via emails. they sure make us feel loved and gives me strength to keep on keepin on!!! God bless to each and all, Bonny and Alan
Thanks Frank. Keeping up the prayers and warm thoughts for both Alan and Bonny. Hoping this one resolves itself.
