I got some heat shrink tubing, but I think I heated it too much and it became hard, not pliable as I thought it should be. I had a couple people pull against it and it ain't coming loose.. at least for a paddle leash.

I also picked up at Harbor Freight (2) 1" x 12' tie down straps for $3.99. They are on sale this week. This is basically the same stuff I bought at the kayak shop when in the keys for $13.95, minus the fancy padding. 2 sets may come in handy.

Gonna put the kayak on the car this weekend for its maiden voyage as a dive yak. Am thinking of getting a seperate pool noodle that is not cut down the middle and run the strap through it. I had to cut the other pool noodle to fit on Debby's rack, but am wondering if that one will smoosh too much..

Any suggestions on strapping the yak to the top of the car? I am thinking of strapping the foam on the car, wrapped in some of that squishy no skid stuff you can get in the dollar store, then strapping the kayak to the foam.
