hey everyone,

I'll be in kauai sep 26th to oct 1st with my wife, we're looking to do a day of unguided shore diving in kauai, does anyone here dive there regularly?

we have lots of experience shore diving here in los angeles...and we were wondering what you recommend in terms of dive sites, why you like those sites, which side of the island to dive on this time of the year, which dive shop to rent tanks/weights from (or which one to avoid).

if you want to meet up with us, that's fine too

thanks alot!

you can email me, the address is sgietler (its a ya-hoo email address), or reply here

I took a quick look at this page - http://www.shorediving.com/Earth/Hawaii/Kauai
that's all the info I have so far.

I haven't seen anyone from Kauai post on here in the time I have been over here and using this forum. I'd call up these guys and see what they say: http://www.divekauai.com/ I think boat diving would be a better choice. If you look at the layout of Kauai most the stuff is in the north and east. I think the west side would be better diving due to swell. The north swell should be increasing in not too long of a time. Anyway I think diving Ni'ihau/Lehua Rock would be the most amazing but you may be at the end of their charter season. I'd call and find out. Check out their site for a map.
