Thanks Ted. Looks like no reservation is necessary as it turns out, though parking is limited. Thanks for your report, it could be quite helpful. Cheers.
My apologies, I should of commented on the shore diving as well. You can dive tunnels with or without a guide. The parking is limited and the ideal parking spot is not obvious. You'll also want to know where to enter and exit the water due to the reef structure. Also, I wouldn't dive this location with any north swell. If you wanted a guide to make it easier on yourself, Makana O Kauai or Fathom Five dive the location frequently but only if no swell. If you need some parking advice etc, DM me and I can give you details.

Marcus8, did you end up diving Tunnels? If so,
how was it? - We are planning on going back in 2025.

General FYI for those interested in diving Tunnels. Guided tours / training is no longer available. Permits have not been issued for commercial operations to continue up at the dive site. Certainly snorkeling and beach going is fine. I don't suspect that things will change soon. Unguided scuba activities at Tunnels have never been advised due to the challenging conditions that are common and not easy to predict. A stunningly beautiful beach to enjoy, but scuba at least for now is not advised or available.

Alas I did not. Nor in any subsequent trips either as the weather and wave action simply didn't allow it. Not even close. The water was extremely rough. Ended up going to Nihau a couple of times though which was extraordinary.
