19' 8" leaves and dead animal remains covering the bottom, get some antibotics before you go and dont swallow the water
I wonder how deep this is and what it contains?

27' stone lined bottom....

i say about 15ft with leaves and sticks covering bottom.. Also you might want to be careful. If the trees grew after the well this could mean that their roots seriously danaged the walls since they are not much for than stone. That might be something to look at.

But back to this hole....where is it? And is it on private property? Do you know the owner?
Diving a hole like that would not only qualify you for the Darwin award, it would put you at the top of the list!
I bet there was once an outhouse over that hole.

Before going down into the hole make sure you have your passport and study up on the Chinese language.

6 pages of discussion about this hole and no controversy yet. I say RIMAP should step in and prevent any exursions into the hole. It could have historic value.

Play it safe if you so choose. I'll bet you only dive sites that someone else dove first so you can be sure it's absolutely safe. You Pansy.
I doubt there was an outhouse unless it was a community latrine. Besides, lining the poop pit with stones would be pointless.

Not me...I'm a big brave hero....
And I bet there are no lobsters down there either. I like to wrassle with lobsters.It's just that I think of the videos of baby Jessica when I think of you diving this hole. :no
Please..if you do it be careful. But I'll take a guess on the depth too...1.5 feet with a poop lined bottom.
Come ocean diving with me in Boston Harbor this summer...the dive spots are wider!
Thats a serious invitation friend! but not for a few more months. I'm a pansy about cold water too..
