I like reading reports of cool dives from just about anyone, pick your letter combo.

But I like poking fun at people too :)

Today's favorite class is...
Scubatics - Unified Team Diving

... and this has ... what? ... to do with DIR ...

Smile everyone, its just for fun :) :)

It's always fun watching young studs trying to impress themselves ... as long as you don't take them seriously ... :shakehead:

Lots of it, too...Andrew is producing a comedic gold mine!

I'm working on my "using an al40 to see if there's a cave" course. It will be 3 days and cover clipping off a AL40 to power snorkel. Cost should be around $750. Of course, a PSAL40 rig will be required, should hit the shelves sometime around Jan, and be a UTD signature series item (made by someone else).

I think you're working on perpetuating a stereotype that would've best been left in the past ... and making it harder for folks who are considering DIR to decide it has anything of value to offer them ...

The more training I have received, the less confident I am in the water. It's weird, but what used to be no big deal, no brings on all sorts of anxiety. :shakehead:

Must be getting old...

... because you now realize that what you didn't know then could've really hurt you. I look back on some of the dives I did in my first year of diving and realize that although I might do those dives today, I'd prepare for them way differently ...

Absolutely nothing, which was probably his point...

... then why bring it up in this forum?

Thank God I live in a place where the GUE people and the UTD people get along and enjoy diving together ...

I'm sure if there were any UTD folks around here we'd get along and be able to dive with each other just fine. once they marked their stage bottles, anyway...

Sorry, some of the stuff being put forth is not only NOT DIR, but it's downright dangerous.
Diving Equipment List @ nick-toussaint.com

There's no way you can tell me that it's safe to dive side mount without a soft back plate...it's going to get you keyholed somewhere you can't get out of. Seems to me like someone is trying to use the DIR marketing power built up by Halcyon/GUE/WKPP to promote other interests ($$$). Why not contact Edd or someone who actually does SM rather than attempt to throw a DIR sticker on an untested solution?

Bob, you really need to lighten up. You've been doing a lot of whining lately.

Everyone is having a good time here except you, stop being a Debby Downer. Be a Positive Pete!

What "everyone" ... three guys from North Florida?

What "good time" ... making snide remarks about people who have nothing to do with you are doing? Not my idea of a good time. That's the sort of behavior that puts so many people off to DIR ... and makes it harder to explain to anyone outside the DIR community why they might want to consider being a part of it. People reading this stuff don't associate it with you ... they associate it with DIR, which affects a lot of people who don't think your "humor" is very funny.

Perhaps your comments should be kept on boards that are limited to strictly GUE participants ... this is an open forum ... everybody on ScubaBoard can read it ... and to the rest of the dive community you guys don't come off like someone who'd be much fun to associate with.

Unfortunately ... whether you realize it or not ... you represent DIR ...
